WELCOME TO CHERRY TREE SCHOOL

Cherry Tree is an independent special school for young people aged 5 to 19 with social, emotional and mental health needs and social and communication difficulties, associated with Autism Spectrum Conditions.

Our Vision & Core Values

Located in the beautiful and historic city of Glocuester, Cherry Tree School combines the best elements of personal development and academics with a unique specialist and therapeutic approach.

Our vision is to create an inclusive, engaging and welcoming environment where our pupils feel safe, connected and are equipped with the skills they need to lead healthy and productive lives.

We believe that every child has the right to an exciting and varied curriculum to meet their individual needs. By this we do not just mean work in the classroom, but our wide offering of carefully planned interventions and therapies to help develop your child as a whole.

Personal and Social Development

Challenge Day is an outdoor learning programme designed to support children with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. Through weekly activities, pupils develop confidence, resilience, emotional regulation and communication skills while learning to work positively with others.

Students take part in a range of adventurous and practical experiences, including bushcraft, sailing, rock climbing, high ropes and educational visits. These opportunities encourage pupils to build independence, overcome challenges, develop self-belief and strengthen their connection with the wider community through projects, work experience and charity events.

In Key Stages 3 and 4, students follow a personalised programme that helps them develop the skills, confidence and independence needed for life beyond school. Through a range of practical experiences and guidance, pupils are supported to explore their interests, strengths and future aspirations.

Students learn about different pathways available to them, including further education, training and employment. They are supported to set personal goals, prepare for college applications and interviews, create CVs, and develop an understanding of the world of work. By the time they leave us, pupils are equipped with the knowledge, skills and self-belief to take the next step in their journey with confidence.

All students follow our Personal, Social, Health, Economic studies including Relationships and Sex Education. Our curriculum is designed specifically for our students following an accredited PSHE programme that is age appropriate and sequenced.
